James Lee

U.S. Patent Agent

James Lee, a U.S. Patent Agent registered with the USPTO, holds a master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering from Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. As an electronic engineer, he participated in a military equipment localization project at the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in South Korea. Following this, he transitioned his career to the intellectual property industry and joined ACI Law Group in Southern California. He has handled over 1,000 intellectual property cases in the United States, including patent and trademark applications, oppositions, and cancellation proceedings. He has also served as the Managing Director of ACI Law Group. Currently, he is primarily responsible for patent prosecution at both ACI Law Group and ACI Patent Corporation.

Involved in patent prosecution, particularly for entrepreneurs and independent inventors.
Assisted attorneys in conducting trademark searches for over a thousand brands and filed several hundred trademark applications for registration with the USPTO.
Assisted attorneys in constructing compelling arguments to successfully overcome refusals of trademarks by USPTO examiners, often due to serious reasons like likelihood of confusion.
Aided attorneys in trademark opposition proceedings, enabling a foreign manufacturer to protect and successfully register their brand in the U.S. with the USPTO.
Contributed to a localization development project led by the Agency for Defense Development as a research engineer, focusing on the development of a Muzzle Velocity Radar System.
